The Green School Bangalore made the Bangalore City proud at TIESS conference orgsnized by Indian Didactics Association . There were 2500 nominations of schools who had sent their documented work to the 40 member jury . In one of the categories of enabiling experiential learning the green school Bangalore was chosen as one of the 9 finalists amongst the crème le crème schools pan india . Out of the 9 finalists , the chairman of the ICSE board who gave the award declared the winner and it was a sweeping victory and TGSB was declared the winner in the presence of 5000 people at Yashibhoomi , Delhi NCR .

I am so thrilled that the TGSB management has considered awarding scholarship to us- empowering the girl children of the community. While on one hand educating and empowering girl children reinforces the UN’s SDG goal of right to education, it may raise the eyebrows of the boys questioning the gender equity. The school has evaluated its moves. While scholarship is awarded to every passion and talent of middle and high school when students start showcasing their novelty, the move is not defying gender equality. In fact, it is reinforcing gender equity by challenging the traditional stereotypes as ‘men are powerful breadwinners, women are vulnerable caregivers’, or ‘boys are strong, girls are weak’.
